Whatever Happened to Home Ec? Sewing Class

Whatever Happened to Home Ec? (1) - Learn sewing the way they used to teach it…in Home Ec class! You’ll learn basic sewing skills through making simple projects like placemats, napkins, tote bags, and drawstring bags. This class prepares you for more advanced sewing so you can step into one of our beginning quilting or garment sewing classes, or move on to Whatever Happened to Home Ec? (2)

Whatever Happened to Home Ec? (2) - In this second Home Ec class you’ll learn how to insert zippers, buttons, and more. Make zippy pouches, envelope pillows, crossback aprons, and more.  Whatever Happened to Home Ec (1) or basic sewing skills is a prerequisite.

Classes are private or semi-private; we work with up to 2 students at a time.  For groups of three or more, please contact the shop.

Pick your class and purchase your lessons in blocks as follows:
6 hours: $250 per person
10 hours: $395 per person

Class Policies

Our classes support the fabric and supplies we carry and we purchase fabric and merchandise to support our classes. Our policy is to have students purchase their fabric and supplies at our studio.

Group classes are non-refundable, however if you cancel prior to 5 days in advance and we can fill your spot, we will issue you credit towards a subsequent class. Private lessons can be rescheduled once due to sickness or emergency, but repeated cancellations are non-refundable.

COVID-19 Policy

Currently we require masks to be worn during our classes because we are a small studio and work in close proximity. As always, if you are feeling sick or please stay home.
