This class wraps quilt making and garment sewing into one course that packs a punch! You’ll learn how to sew a patchwork quilt, have it longarmed, and then turn it into a coat that’s super easy to make. We’ll also show you to how to sew a test garment and alter your pattern to make it a custom fit.  Learn pattern matching techniques too.  You’ll choose from different closure methods and then binding techniques.You'll have a for a finished quilt coat ready for Fall weather!

Note:  The enrollment fee includes fabric, batting, and longarm services.  Participants will need to purchase the PDF pattern and instructions from the designer, but we'll have the printed patterns available for use in class.  

Students need to own or purchase a rotary cutter, and 6-8 ½ inch x 24 ½ inch ruler, but if you don't have or don't wish to purchase these supplies can opt to use pre-cut fabric for this project. Students can use our sewing machines or their own if they have a patchwork and walking foot.  

Prerequisite:  Beginning Sewing or Whatever Happened to Home Ec and some
garment sewing and/or quilt making suggested.

Policies

* Classes have a maximum attendance of 4 and a minimum of 2. If your class doesn’t
reach minimum attendance you’ll have the opportunity to convert this into a semi-private
package of 10 lessons with the remainder in credit toward your supplies.

* Classes are NON REFUNDABLE! If we can find a replacement for your spot we will issue a refund minus a $25 service fee.

* Wearing protective masks is optional at this time. As always, if you are feeling sick, please stay home.
