In this second annual Juneteenth Sewminar, we will explore the practice of creating textiles as an act of protest and resistance. Quilt artist and Sew Local Studio member, Jo Treffner, will discuss her process in creating the quilt pictured here and hanging in our studio. Spoiler alert...the quilt is double sided and you'll get to see the other side! Jo will also demonstrate her technique of piecing letters of the alphabet. The price includes Jo's alphabet handout and fabric so you can try your hand at creating your own words of protest. You don't have to make a whole quilt; add your message to an item of clothing, totebag, backpack, or banner.
This class is non-refundable
