Applique is not just for quilting but a great way to embellish jeans, jackets, and other
clothing items. In this class you’ll learn several different hand and machine applique techniques and then choose a project—either quilt block(s), garment, or other item of your choice—to embellish with your own unique applique design.
Note: All fabric and materials needed to complete appliqué samples will be provided, and participants have the option of using our scraps and/or their own scraps for appliqué motifs. Students will need to provide their own clothing if they choose to appliqué on garments. We will have vest and other patterns available for use during class. Students will use shop sewing machines as they have the appropriate feet and stitches needed for the samples and projects.
Prerequisite: Beginning Sewing or Beginning Garment Making or Whatever Happened to Home Ec, or prior sewing experience.
